i have been listening to the new Sigur Ros record Takk a lot lately . i have to say, it is one of the most amazing things i have ever had run through my ears in a long time. in fact, i am listening to it right now and can only say that you have to hear it. it brings up all of these memories and feelings that you really dont think about much like:

• the silver lining of a grey cloud.
• your first kiss ever.
• the minute you realize you are in love with someone.
• the first time you feel you just heard your new favorite song.
• a coffee and a smoke with a freind at a coffee shop on a really cold, grey winter's day.
• a really long road trip with someone you really dig.
• old freinds and the good times.
• the plane ride home from a foreign country where you had the time of your life.
• making a new best freind.
• realizing you are not alone on this planet and some people really do care.
• someone showing up at your door unexpectedly that you really wanted to see.
• driving through the country on a sunny day.
• those nights where you hang out with a bunch of people you have known for a long time and all the baggage is forgotten and everyone is happy to see eachother and really getting along.
• coming home from a long trip and see ing you boyfreind/girlfreind or husband/wife and feeling really good to be home.

the list goes on and on. from begining to end this is a beautiful work of art...its what jim morrison said he thought rock n' roll was,"an expression of unbound joy like kids playing on the beach." i know this all sounds dramatic and cheesey...

get this record. please. do yourself or someone else a favor and get it. set aside and hour or so and listen to it. i mean, really listen to it. you'll understand.
